Although we have not yet met India's Master Magician Gopinath Muthukad, he is nonetheless a Quinlan's Inside Magic favorite just based on press reports and his willingness to respond to our email.
Students of India's rich history recall the Sepoy Rebellion of 1857 as a significant battle for the country's independence. India did not actually gain independence from Britain until August 15, 1947 through the non-violent actions and philosophy of Mahatama Gandhi.
India celebrated the 150th anniversary of the battle for independence this month with Mr. Muthukad's magical contributions.
Mr. Muthukad and community leaders developed the special magic show, Illusion India to celebrate the anniversary in proper style.
The show was specifically built for the celebration, ran just about two hours, and performed on Janauary 25. According to reports:
Illusion India was incredibly amazing and inspiringly patriotic.
Thousands of people thronged on the open grounds to witness the homegrown Houdiniâs show.
Eventually, with his graceful talent, Mr. Muthukad carried the entire audience to a dream world of mirth, myth and mystery. It took several seconds for many of them to return to the reality, even as the curtain was closed for the show.
Congratulations to Mr. Muthukad for the well-deserved publicity and critical acclaim.
Make sure you check out Mr. Muthukad's website for a great example of Flash programming that does not detract but actually enhances the navigation and look.
