Bangor International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 362 (the Maine Mystics) calls escape artists from around the globe to participate in Worldwide Escape Artist Relay ("WEAR").
If you perform escapes or are thinking of trying to perform a stunt around Halloween, you need to check out Ring 362's web site. The organizers give the hrebird's-eye low-down at their web site:
On Saturday, October 27, 2007, escape artists around the world will participate in the second Worldwide Escape Artist Relay, the largest coordinated performance by escape artists in history.
The Worldwide Escape Artist Relay will circle the globe as escape artists around the world perform a variety of thrilling escapes.
Each performer will document his or her performance as it takes place.
The participants in the Worldwide Escape Artist Relay, men and women, young and old, novices and seasoned pros emerging from retirement, will unite to restore the Art of Escape to its rightful place in the public imagination!
WEAR began in 2005 and this will be the second iteration of the event. At the inaugural WEAR more than 50 performers around the world participated.
We just checked the official web site (http://www.ibmring362.org/WEAR2007.html) and found there are more than 90 signed on.
